This Thursday members play a single stableford competition.

On Saturday members played a club sponsored single stableford competition won by Fiona Dowling with an excellent 39 points from Cynthia Draper and Lisa Cooney both on 33 points. Robyn Robinson (0.29m) won the ladies’ approach.
Most stayed to enjoy the ‘Happy Hour’ and ‘Curry Evening’ following presentations, now awaiting another such evening on the third Saturday in May.

Next Saturday we play in single stableford competition sponsored by Footes’ Childers Pharmacy, always a generous sponsor.

Men

Members played a club-sponsored single stableford competition on Saturday. Phil Luckett backed up his last week’s win in A Division with 36 points to win on countback from Clinton Dowling runner-up again.

In B Division Ross Nicol recorded 37 points to win from Brett Martell on 34, runner-up on a countback from Norm Plath who won a rundown.

Dave Robinson (4.58m) won the A Division pinshot on 1&10 and Peter Hutton (1.055m) the B Division approach. Steve Cole (4.40m) won the A Division pinshot on 4&13 while no B Division player reached the green.

The after game presentations, ‘Happy Hour’ and ‘Curry Evening’ prepared by Michael Stanton, proved very successful with some members reluctant to end the enjoyable evening. We look forward to further such evenings on the third Saturday of each month.

Next Saturday Footes’ Childers Pharmacy sponsors a single stableford, with the usual generous prizes for members.

Vets

Rain interrupted play and for some stopped them completing their final holes of the four ball best ball stableford competition. In a close tussle Norm Plath and Phil Pearce with 43 points won, ahead of Phil Luckett and Ken Albion on 42 points, with Joan Wright and Lisa Cooney third on 41 points.

The approach winners were: visitor Michael Farren (0.56m) for the men’s approach on 1&10; Rose Cochrane (0.60m) for the combined approach on 4&13; and Joan Kelly (0.20m) for the women’s approach on 6&15.
Ken Albion led the Chook Run winners with 28 nett, from Phil Luckett (30), Michael Stanton and John Henderson (33).

Next week it is again time for the V.I.P. Monthly stroke competition sponsored by two very willing workers, Ray Walker and Kev Denham.  We welcome you all there for the 12 noon hit-off.
