On Thursday Kerry Schnack again won the single stableford competition with an impressive 41 points from Margaret Dennet on 39 (hard luck Marg), who also won the approach. Joy Cartner won a rundown.
Next Thursday ladies will decide before hit-off at 8:30 a.m. what game to play. The Burrum Ladies’ Carnival is on March 6, so nominate by the week before.
Nominations for Women’s Country Week open on February 18.
Fiona Dowling recorded 39 points to win the single stableford on Saturday from Kerry Schnack on 36, with Coralie Volgyesi winning a rundown. Fiona also claimed the ladies’ approach.
Next Saturday members play a single stroke competition sponsored by the Isis Tyres Dowling family.
Men
Three of the first round matches for the 4 ball Match Play championship were played on Saturday after a shower to start the afternoon’s play.
Clinton Dowling and Stephen Cole won a tight match on the 19th; Roger Draper and Ivan Philpott defeated Nigel Radin and Peter Steel; Damien Dowling and Michael Stanton won against Bill Herring and Craig Reynolds.
Phil Luckett with 38 points won the single stableford played by other members from Brendan Rockett on 37. Rundowns went to Peter Hrelja, Phil Pearce, Norm Plath and Gary Carlon.
Stephen Cole (7.36m) won the A Division pinshot on 1&10, while Michael Stanton (0.93m) won the A Division pinshot on 4&13. The B Division players all missed the greens.

Vets
Members enjoyed (?) the club sponsored par competition, with a few able to better par. In A Division, Bill Cowan with plus 3, won on a countback from Terry Smallman, with Larry Pershouse third on plus 2. Paul McCarragher won B Division also with plus 3, from Roger Draper on plus 1, with Lazlo Volgyesi next on minus 1.
Clinton Dowling won the Combined approach in the hole on 4&13, with Kieth Rule winning the Men’s approach on 1&10 and Cynthia Draper the Women’s on 6&15.
Terry Smallman led the Chook Run winners with nett 29, from Kev Denham (31), Lisa Cooney, Bob Champney, Roger Draper, Larry Pershouse (33 each) and Michael Stanton (34) on a spin.
