Members enjoyed a single stableford on Thursday with Robyn Robinson winning with 40 points from Vicki McAulay on 37. Val Plath won nearest the pin with her second shot.
This Thursday is a stroke competition with the following players competing in the Monthly Goblet final - Cecily Fay, Margaret Dennett, Vicki Wyeth, Joy Cartner and Coralie Volgyesi.
On Saturday, members joined in the Sponsors Day Ambrose and results are in the mens notes.
Friday night is Presentation Night starting from 6:30pm and for the first time in recent years a Calcutta is being conducted involving the Monthly Goblet finalists - Fiona Dowling, Sophie Martell, Joy Cartner, Robyn Robinson, Monica Madsen and Vicki McAulay. Members are asked to bring a plate for supper.

Another good roll up on Saturday to try and get their name on the trophy for the Isis Golf Club's thank you to all our generous sponsors throughout the year. This trophy has been residing at Stacey's Barber Shop for quite some time as they have successfully defended their title. The other favoured team of Clinton & Fiona Dowling representing Isis Tyre Service were the main challengers. In the end both teams returned a score of 62.25 nett, and after close scrutiny the trophy will now reside at Isis Tyre Service for the next 12 months.
A long list of rundowns went to B Champney & K Savage, K Rule & P Luckett, L Pershouse & C Draper, B Herring & M Stanton, B Martell & J Hinton and I Carson & T Blinco.
Pinshots went to Cynthia Draper, Clinton Dowling & Larry Pershouse.
There were also 2 matchplay games played and in the singles Peter Steele and Trevor Dann played the semi final with Peter having a convincing win 5 and 4 over Trevor. This now means Peter will take on Larry Pershouse in the final. The other match was the final of the pairs matchplay that had Damien Dowling and Will Martell up against Peter Russo and Ray Walker. This was a very close match with no more than 2 holes in it all day. The final result which was a bit of a boil over went to Ray and Peter, after Peter sank a 30 footer on the 18th green to go 2 up.
This Friday night is Presentation Night and Calcutta, so please make an effort to come along and share some yarns with all the winners from throughout the year. The night begins at 6:30pm. Please bring a plate to share. Saturday's game will be the final of the monthly medal and the overflow will be playing a single stableford.
Vets
A pleasant afternooon of golf was enjoyed by the members competing in a single stableford event on the last Tuesday in November. Margaret Dennett recorded 41 points to be the outright winner for the day, on a countback from Bob Werne. Bill Herring won the A Division with 40 points from Kieth Rule on 38 points.
Bob did win B Division with his 41 points from Monica Madsen on 37 on a countback from Ed Connell. Ed was able to take out the best nine though.
Bill Herring also won the men's approach with 2.5 cms from the hole, while Joan Kelly missed her birdie putt by a mere 15cm.
Chook run winners were - Ed Connell (31 nett), Bob Werne, Kev Savage (32), Monica Madsen, Bill Herring and Mark McAulay (33) on spins.
Next Tuesday we play a single stroke competition and includes the final of the monthly VIP winners over the year, with a shield to be won by the overall winner on the day.
Social
Twenty two members, some accompanied by partners, enjoyed the Christmas trip to Hervey Bay. The heavy downpour didn't stop play, with all drying out by the end of the round.
Scott White found the conditions to his liking and recorded a nett 68 to win from Bill Long on 71, with Bob Champney coming in third. Bill also hit the B Grade longest drive and landed nearest the pin on 7. Paul McCarragher recorded the least number of putts and won an approach as well.
Terry Smallman, who was responsble for delivering a number of players safely to the course and back home, hit the A Grade longest drive (again)!
The Christmas lunch which followed the round was very enjoyable and the hours passed very pleasantly until it was time to return - a special day out.
This Sunday is Monthly Mug, a stroke and putt competition, and the last opportunity to earn points towards player of the year.
