Golf Notes 03 September 2017

Helen Ricciardi claimed her monthly medal with 68 nett to win from Lisa Cooney on 72 nett. Rundowns went to Vicki McAulay on 73 & Cynthia Draper on 74. Cecily Fay claimed the approach on 6 & 15 with .145m

Members owe a debt of gratitude to those 23 members who came to help in the working bee held on Wednesday for the annual coring of the greens (and tees).  We look forward to the results during the coming weeks. 

As you will see from the scores this week, some members found the sandy surface to their liking, and some did not.

Women

Helen Ricciardi claimed the Saturday Monthly Medal with 68 nett, to win from Lisa Cooney on 72 nett.  Rundowns went to Vicki McAulay on 73 & Cynthia Draper on 74. Cecily Fay claimed the approach on 6 & 15 with .145m 

Next Saturday members play in a club stableford fourball. Please find a partner.

On Thursday the day after the coring of the greens, there was no ladies' competition but next week member play for the Thursday Monthly Medal. By then the greens should be perfect.

Men

Larry Pershouse produced one of his specials to win A Division with 65 nett, from his playing partner Kieth Rule with 68 nett.  Chris Crouch & Kev Savage claimed rundowns, both on 69. 
Bill Herring scored a stunning 64 nett to win the B Division Medal from Gary Gretton on 66 nett.  Rundowns went to Ken Albion on 67, Phil Pearch and Garry Willoughby both on 70 nett.

Vets

On Tuesday members played a single stableford competition with competitive scores the order of the day.  Michael Stanton, fresh from his win in the final of the matchplay competition recorded 37 points to win Division 1 from Ray Walker, second on 35 on a countback from Mark McAulay.  Vicki McAulay was next on 34 points.

Harry Zawacki won Division 2 with 39 ponts from Vicki Wyeth on 37, second on a countback from Sandy Kirk.  Barry Steinke was next on 36.

Juniors

Members played a chip and putt competition on Sunday morning, with newest member Nick Cocking scoring a two in the chip and putt.  Xavier Freeman scored 2 two's and James Cocking a two as well.  Next week will be Monthly Medal. 

A reminder that Golf Queensland is offering a two day golfing camp 9:30am to 3:30pm on Wednesday and Thursday 20 & 21 September, which is the first week of the school holidays. This 2 day event is for 5 to 12 year olds.

The Isis Golf Club is proud to sponsor this event and is offering a $50 refund to junior members and intending members of the Club to help with registration fees, which are $80 per player.
