Women

Last Thursday the Vets joined us for a single stableford competition with an opportunity for Seb's Matchplay contenders to complete their matches and continue on in time to play a final before month's end.

The results of that competition are in the Men's section of the notes.  This Thursday we play our final Monthly Goblet for the year.

On Saturday members played for the Monthly Goblet with Robyn Robinson recording 70 nett to win by one shot from Fiona Dowling.  Joy Cartner on 72, and Rae McCliskie on 75 both received rundowns.

Fiona was also nearest the pin with her approach on 1 & 10, while Cynthia Draper put her pinshot 2.78 metres from the hole on 6 & 15 to win the silver circle.

The tasty after game snacks were greatly appreciated.  Thank you to the contributers.

Men

Thanks to the efforts of so many members over the year and more recently, and the much needed steady rainfall, the course and greens are already in great playing condition and we should feel genuinely proud of our unique tree-lined fairways becoming green and lush as we watch.

Another large field completed in the single stroke competition for the November Monthly Medal while one group played their pairs Match Play round.  Rod Wagner & Geoff Jarrett winning that match one up over Ross Nicol & Terry Smallman. They will now play in the final against Kieth Rule & Larry Pershouse.

Will Martell scored an impressive 66 nett to win A Division (for the second time this year) from Kev Savage on 69 nett.  Rundowns went to Peter Hutton, Ken Albion & John Hinton.

Damien Dowling won both pinshots on 1 & 10 and 4 & 13, while Ross Nicol won the B Division pinshot on 4 & 13.  Ivan Philpott won the approach on 1 & 10.

Thank you to those who brought a plate.

Next week is a single stableford competition with an opportunity for Seb's Matchplay contenders to complete their matches and continue on in time to play a final before the Month's end.

Juniors

Last weekend was the final round of the Chip & Putt Competition for the year.  In the six hole event Cooper Rehbein had a good win with a 73 off the stick, closely followed by Tom Blinco on 79.  The nine hole event was a family affair with Amara & Cooper Burns finishing all square on 67 each to be equal winners.  They were closely followed by Wesley Hinton on 70.  In the thirteen hole event there was some exciting golf with Christian Fredriksen chipping in from 70 metres out!  This helped Christian to win the event with a 58 from Zane Fitzgerald on 61.

This weekend will be a stroke round on Saturday morning with thirteen hole play starting at 7:00am and all other play starting at 7:30am.  On Sunday morning 17 of our juniors will travel to Hervey Bay to contest the last round of the Wide Bay Junior circuit.  Several of our players are in the running for some yearly prizes.  Best of luck to all juniors playing this weekend.
