Golf Notes 05 March 2017

Coralie Volgyesi won the first Thursday Monthly Medal with a score of 69 nett, from Marg Dennett on 71. Cecily Fay's 74 nett earned her a rundown, whilst Kerry Schnack won the approach on 4 & 13.

Women

Coralie Volgyesi won the first Thursday Monthly Medal with a score of 69 nett, from Marg Dennett on 71. Cecily Fay's 74 nett earned her a rundown, whilst Kerry Schnack won the approach on 4 & 13.

This Thursday the ladies will play a single stableford competition.

On Saturday Val Plath had an enjoyable day winning the Monthly Medal with a score of 69 nett, from Joan Wright.  Val also won the approach on 6 & 15.

Again appreciation was expressed for the snacks provided by members and a special thank you to June & Cynthia for preparing them. 

Men

The Monthly Medals attracted a strong field in both division A & B.  In A Division Chris Crouch recorded 68 nett to win on a countback from Mark McAulay.  In B Division Darryl Johnstone again recorded an outstanding figure of 64 nett to win from Royce Blair on 68.

Rundowns went to Ross Nicol on 71, Peter Hutton and Michael Stanton both on 72 and Roger Draper and Ken Albion who recorded 72 nett. 

Chris Crouch recorded an eagle 3 on the par 5 number 2.

Peter Hutton won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, Damien Dowling the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

Next week members play a club sponsored single stableford competition.

Vets

On Tuesday, members played a par event with only one player finishing in positive territory.  Bill Cowan recorded plus 4 to win A Division from Vicki McAulay who finished square with the card, and Ray Burrowes on minus 1.

In B Division three players each scored minus 1, with Val Plath winning on a countback. Rusty Usmar was second on a countback from Ken Albion.  Kev Denham had a forgettable round earning him the unenviable NAGA Award.

Rusty won the men's approach on 1 & 10, Mark McAulay and Rae McCliskie the combined approach on 4 & 13, and Rae won the ladies approach on 6 & 15.

Chook Run winners were Joan Wright, Monica Madsen, Joy Cartner and Kieth Rule on a spin.

This Tuesday members play a single stableford.  See you there for the 12 noon hit off.
