Men

The Monthly Medal was played in cool conditions after rain during the week.

Clinton Dowling won the A Division medal with a nett 69, one shot ahead of Trevor Dann, while in B Division Travis Mittelheuser scored a 68 nett to win from Mark McAulay on 72.

Mick Hickey placed his pinshot 3.49 metres from the pin to claim the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, with Ivan Philpott winning the B Division approach 1.14 metres from the hole.

Kieth Rule landed near the edge of green on 4 & 13 but no one landed inside him so he won the A Division pinshot.  No B Division player even managed to reach the green.

Blake Dowling is never far from making golfing news and on Saturday eagled the ninth - not easy to do!

This Saturday we play a club sponsored single stroke competition - a warm up for the upcoming club championships.

Vets

A cool autumn afternoon welcomed members to the most popular of competitions - the stroke versus par one.  Added to the difficulty was that partners were drawn after the start of play so no-one knew who was their support or handicap.

Ray Burrows again managed to draw a partner in Craig Reynolds to help him win but with a score just equalling par.  Bob Cochrane and Norm Plath were runners up on minus 1, on a countback from 2nd runners up Neil Reick and Kev Denham.  Gary Gretton and Ed Connell won the best nine on a spin.

Nearest the pin winners with their second shot were Larry Pershouse for the men and Coralie Volgyesi for the women.

Kieth Rule led the Chook Run winners with 31 points from Vicki McAulay on 32, followed by Phil Lucket, Roger Draper, Rusty Usmar and Gary Gretton all on 34 after a spin off.

Next week is a single stableford unless you have nominated to play at Maryborough in their Vets' Carnival.
