Golf Notes 06 September 2016

On Thursday the ladies played for the September Monthly Medal, with Jennifer McKay winning with a nett score of 69, from Lisa Cooney and Joan Wright both on 71. Vicki McAulay won the approach.

Women

On Thursday the ladies played for the September Monthly Medal, with Jennifer McKay winning with a nett score of 69, from Lisa Cooney and Joan Wright both on 71.  Vicki McAulay won the approach.

This Thursday we play a single stableford – see you there for the 8:30 a.m. hit-off.

Joan Wright scored a nett 69 to win the Monthly Medal on Saturday, with Fiona Dowling runner-up on 71. Joan (0.24m) also won the approach on 6&15.

Fiona scored an eagle 2 on number one hole.  Thank you to those who provided a plate.

Next week we play a single stableford competition, with hit-off as usual.

Men

After an overnight shower refreshed the course, members enjoyed playing the single stroke competition for the September Monthly Medal.

In A Division, four players returned a nett score of 69, with Ross Nicol claiming the Medal on a countback from Phil Luckett, with rundowns to visitor Michael Orvad and Clinton Dowling.

Ross also scored an eagle 3 on number 9.

New member Garry Willoughby scored 73 nett to win in B Division on a countback from Bill Kingston.

Clinton Dowling (2.06m) won the A Division pinshot on 1&10; Larry Pershouse (0.09m) the B Division approach. Peter Steel (6.43m) claimed the A Division pinshot on 4&13.

Thanks to those few who arrived with a plate.

Next week we play a club single stableford, with hit-off at the usual time.

Vets

The stroke versus par competition for the first of two rounds of Cooper Cup play led to many positive scores.

In A Division it was husband Mark McAulay who edged out wife Vicki on a countback (not as announced after the game), with Phil Luckett next on plus 2, Col Dennett earning a rundown with his round level with par.

Scores in B Division were even better, with Ken Backhaus winning on plus 5, Len Stallard second on plus4 and Jennifer McKay next on plus3, on a countback from Ray Burrowes, who received a rundown.

Mark McAulay (0.9m) won the Men’s approach on 1&10; Len Stallard (in the hole) the Combined approach on 4&13; and Joan Wright (2.45m) the Ladies’ approach on 6&15.

Ken Backhaus led the Chook Run winners with 28 nett from Ted Buckland and Len Stallard (29), followed by Vicki McAulay (30).

Next week members play a single stableford competition with hit-off at 12 noon as usual.
