Golf Notes 07 January 2014

Opening Day 2014 The new season hits off at 12:30pm with a two person Ambrose competition sponsored again by the Russo Brothers.

Opening Day Saturday 18 January 2014

The new season hits off at 12:30pm with a two person Ambrose competition sponsored again by the Russo Brothers. The Ambrose Competition enables members to invite interested and/or intending golfers to enjoy a game and be eligible for the after game draw for a free membership for 2014 - a very worthy prize! Encourage friends, neighbours and family members to participate in this event which starts our golfing year.

The course, including greens and tees are responding to the increased care over the summer break and with a little more rain will be very inviting for our golfing family.

A number of golfers took advantage of the Tuesday and Saturday opportunities to play the single stableford competitions for a bbb.  Congratulations to all those whose handicaps are steadily moving in the right direction.

See you all at the opening day and bring a friend.  A reminder that 2014 memberships are now due.

Vets

Vets Competition officially starts Tuesday January 21, following the Club's opening day on the previous Saturday. Dave and Robyn Robinson sponsor this day and further details will appear next week.

I hope all members enjoyed the break and those needing a golf dose managed to turn up on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons at the usual times.

Social

The Childers District Social Club will commence official competition on 12 January 2014 at 7:30am at the Isis Golf Club.  Fees are due on that day as well with members requested to fill in the sheet when signing in with their names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses if they have one, so the Committee may contact the members if changes are made to the calendar.

We will play our usual 2 person Ambrose game for the trophy with names drawn from the hat for partners.

New members will be given 3 weeks free from Club Game fees until they qualify for a handicap with the Social Club, but will be obliged to play the green fees for those games.

Members also note that the membership fees for the Isis Golf Club are now due and payable at the Clubhouse.
