Golf Notes 09 April 2017

The Thursday competition was played for the first time in weeks, with Chris Simpson winning the April Monthly Medal with 74 nett. Runner up was Kerry Schnack on 76. Chris also won the approach on 6 & 15.

Men's Open Day Sunday 23 April - 7:30am & 12:15pm hit offs. Nominations close Wednesday 19 April.

Women

After the game, members met with Mick Murnane, golf professional to discuss the future promotional campaign for female golfers to begin after Country Week in May.  This Thursday ladies play a single stableford.

On Saturday members competed in the three person Ambrose sponsored by the Isis Mill Traders.  Results are in the men's notes.

Next weekend, on Easter Saturday and Easter Monday, the Club offers the traditional BBB competition.  See you there for the 12:30 hit off.

Isis Mill Traders' Day - Saturday 08 April

The course was at it's playing best for the always popular Isis MIll Traders' Day which involved members and visitors in a three person Ambrose.

The teams were organised into three groups according to handicaps. Results are:

  • Group 1 Gross Winners - Damien Dowling, Ron Crouch & Graeme Anderson with 61
  • Group 1 Nett Winners - Clinton Dowling, Royce Blair & Alan Roser with 58 nett
  • Group 2 Gross Winners - Helen Ricciardi, Merryn Henke & Thomas Hall with 65
  • Group 2 Nett Winners - Vicki McAulay, Ray Walker & Garry Willoughby
  • Group 3 Gross Winners - David Pike, Roger Draper & Ivan Philpott with 73
  • Group 3 Nett Winners - Lionel Bust, Tony Lunn & Larry Volgyesi with 61

Congratulations to all the winners and to all pinshot and approach winners which were too numerous to mention.

The Club owes a debt of gratitude to the Isis Mill and their generous tranders.  Thank you to Peter Hrelja & Ross Nicol for their great organisation of the event, Gary Ralph & Kelly Ryan for barbecuing and delivering drinks on the course, and to June & Jan for stepping in at the last minute to serve up delicious the after-game snack.

Next weekend the Club offers the traditional BBB on Easter Saturday & Easter Monday with hit off at 12:30.

The postponed VIP Stroke Competition, sponsored by Kev, Ray & Ted saw some close results in all divisions.  Results are:
