The two Vickis again enjoyed the Monthly Medal Goblet stroke event, with the tables reversed this week.  Vicki Wyeth winning from Vicki McAulay, scoring a nett 68! Marg Dennett rounded off the results with a rundown and least putts.  Coralie Volgyesi won the approach.

This week we return to a single stableford competition which will be club sponsored.

Sophie Martell claimed the Saturday Monthly Goblet with 71 nett, just one ahead of the persistent Joy Cartner, with rundowns to Val Plath & Monica Madsen.  Helen Ricciardi claimed the ladies' approach.

This Saturday we join with the men in a single stableford competition sponsored by the Friendlies Pharmacy. We hope a large field supports our sponsors for the day.

Men

The club sponsored single stroke Monthly Medal competition attracted a smaller than expected field, with the wind the major hurdle to overcome.

Norm Plath's highly creditable 66 nett earned him the medal, just one stroke ahead of the hapless Brett Martell, with Will Martell just one shot further back.  Damien Dowling scored one of his regular eagles on hole number two.  A Division pinshots went to Des Wicks on 1 & 10 and Kev Savage on 4 & 13.

In B Division three members managed to score 70 nett, with Mark McAulay winning on a countback from Larry Pershouse who was runner up on a countback from Bill Kingston.  Geoff Freeman won the B Division pinshot on 4 & 13, while Len Stallard won the approach on 1 & 10.

This Saturday, the Friendlies Pharmacy sponsors the single stableford competition and all members are invited to enjoy the day and compete for an array of prizes.

Match play competitors: we know who you are, so play or forfeit please.

Col Dennett continues his fine form scoring 41 points to be the outright winner of the single stableford competition.  In A Division Larry Pershouse with 40 points, pipped President Nigel Radin by one, with Craig Reynolds claiming the best nine holes.

Roger Draper scored 38 points to win B Division from Vicki Wyeth on 35 points, with visitor Jennifer McKay winning the best nine holes.

Col also won the men's approach, with perennial approach winner Cynthia Draper winning the ladies' approach.

Larry Pershouse easily led the Chook Run winners with 28 nett from Ron Denny and Col Dennet both on 30, Roger Draper on 31, Nigel Radin with 32 and Barry Steinke on 33 (from a spin).

Next week is the monthly VIP stroke sponsored by Ken & Phil, in conjunction with the 4th round of competition for the Jan Mungomery Salver.  Plenty to play for!  See you there for the 12 noon hit off.
