Annual General Meeting

Prior to the afternoon round, members attended the AGM to hear reports from the President and Treasurer. Both reports were well received, before the election of the Management Committee for the ensuing season.

Ken Albion was elected President following the resignnation of Rodney Wagner from that position.

Other positions filled are:

Vice President Rodney Wagner
Treasurer   Robyn Robinson (from retiring Allan Royan)
Secretary Cecily Fay
Men's Captain Kev Savage (from retiring Peter Russo)
Ladies Captain Vicki Wyeth (from retiring Joan Wright)
Greens Director Allan Royan
Providor Mick Ryan (from retiring Ross Nicol)
Committee Paul Bartlett
Committee Dave Robinson

The Club and members sincerely thank all previous office bearers and look forward to a new year.  It was pleasing to see all position
s filled and a balanced Committee is the result offering both continuity and with new members the possibility of new ideas and future change.

Women

Last Thursday we played a Mulligan with Vicki McAulay scoring 67 nett to win from Joan Wright one stroke behind.  Vicki Wyeth's 69 earned her the rundown.

Next Thursday is closing day for the season.  Prepare for a fun day with the competition over 13 holes only.  This Saturday we play a single stableford competition separate from the men's competition.  Last Saturday's results for the tiger stableford are in the men's section of the notes.  Congratulations to members selected on the Management Committee - Cecily Fay, Robyn Robinson and Vicki Wyeth. We wish you well.

Men

After the AGM members enjoyed the traditional tiger stableford with many mourning the zero scores after a wipe on the hole.  This was not the case with some pairs, particularly Brett Martell and daughter Sophie who scored an exceptional 87 points to claim first prize from Kieth Rule and Larry Pershouse on 82 points.  Both pairs receiving the special trophies of the day.

Blake and Damien Dowling scored 80 points for third place from Ed Connell and Len Stallard on 75.  There were a considerable number of rundowns.  Blake also won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, while Larry won the B Division approach.  Welcome back visitor Chris Crouch won the pinshot for the A Division on 4 & 13 and Travis Mittelheuser the B Division pin.  Sophie Martell won the women's approach.

This Saturday sees the final competition of the season and will be a combined (A & B Division) single stableford competition and a separate one for the women.

During the official break, stableford competitions will be conducted by the club for interested members on Tuesdayand Saturday afternoons, until the opening of the new season late in January.

Vets

The return of the single stableford competition saw some fine scores, especially over nine holes if not the eighteen.  Norm Plath struck form with 41 points to be the overall winner for the day on a countback from Robyn Robinson and Bob Cochrane.  However, Robyn claimed the B Division win on a countback from Bob, with 'lucky' Phil Luckett taking out A Division with 38 points.

Mark McAulay's 22 points won him the best nine holes in A Division, while Adrian Martin with 20 points won the B Division best nine holes on a spin. (thank a friend)

Visitor John Rienks won the men's approach and Joy Cartner the womens' approach.

Chook Run winners had to score well again this week with some very low nett scores: Bob Cochrane, Robyn Robinson (27), Norm Plath (30), Rose Cochrane, Val Plath and Bob Werne (31), and Mark McAulay (32) on a big spin off!

Next week we play our final game of the season, another single stableford, sponsored by the President.  A special day is assured with an after game treat, a giant Christmas Raffle (2 draws) before presentation of the day's prizes.

See you there for the 12 noon hit off.

Social

Members enjoyed a fine morning for the stroke and putt competition over the back nine, with Bob Cochrane recording an exceptional 27 nett to win by a country mile.

On 32 nett Terry Smallman won on a countback from Len Stallard who was second on a countback from Ed Connell, with Bob also winning the least putts on a spin from Ed - not your day Ed!

Terry as usual recorded the longest drive, this time in B Grade, while Bob Champney won the approach on 10, Col Dennett the pin on 13 and Mick Ryan the approach on 15.

This week is our season closer, so be ready with your three clubs (no driver) for the stroke and putt on the front nine.

After the game and BBQ we hold our AGM.  Prepare to nominate, especially for the position of Secretary.  See you there.
