Women

Like the men's scores, the women's scores on Saturday were not very flattering with Joy Cartner winning the Monthly Goblet with 77 nett from Joan Kelly on 78 on a countback from Helen Ricciardi on 78 nett.  Helen led the rundowns followed by Val Plath and Joan Wright.  Robyn Robinson won the women's approach.

This Saturday we play a single stableford for a club trophy.

The first round of the Nash Bowl play is to be played on or before June 20 by the following players: Helen Ricciardi vs Fiona Dowling, Cynthia Draper vs Val Plath, Joan Wright vs Cecily Fay and Robyn Robinson vs Joy Cartner.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Foursomes Championships have been changed from Saturday June 28 to Sunday June 29. Hit off is 11:00am. See poster at the Clubhouse for details.

Men

After the excitement of the Club Championships the June Monthly Medal saw a smaller field than usual compete for the medals.  It was a day when only one player bettered par.

In A Division Phil Luckett played very steadily to equal par on nett 70, with Paul McCarragher runner up on 73.  Rundowns went to Mark Tedge and Dave Robinson.

New member Jeff Freeman scored 68 nett to capture the B Division medal from Ivan Philpott on 73.  Rundowns went to Ken Albion and Roger Draper.  Only one pinshot was recorded with Mark Tedge on 4 & 13, while Ivan Philpott won the B approach on 1 & 10, his second shot .09m from the hole.

Damien Dowling completed a treble for the family over the past week, collecting an eagle on the ninth! Well done Damien.

This Saturday members compete for a single stableford competition for a club trophy.

Queen's Birthday Competition

A small, but determined group of golfers enjoyed a single stableford competition in the afternoon.  Joan Kelly triumphed with 42 points to win from Adrian Martin on 39 points.  Rundowns went to Rae McCliskie and Kev Denham on 36, with Bill Herring scoring 35 points and winning the last rundown.  Helen Ricciardi played an excellent nine holes to score 20 points and win that trophy.

Vets

On Tuesday members enjoyed the sponsorship of Bob & Rose Cochrane for the June VIP monthly stroke competition which was run in conjunction with the second round of the Jan Mungomery Salver competition.

A chilly, gusting wind kept players on their toes during the round, but some players revelled in the conditions.  Returning A Division player, Gary Carlon carded a 63 nett to easily win that division form Kev Savage on 68, with Kieth Rule on 71, third on a countback.

In B Division Rusy Usmar scored nett 66, well under par to win from runner up Mark McAulay on 70, with Jack Smith third on 72 in a countback.

Rae McCliskie's 73 won her the women's division from Joy Cartner on 75, followed by Sue Long on 78. Kieth Rule won the men's approach, in the hole with his second shot!  Rae McCliskie made it a double winning the women's approach.  Chook Run winners were Rusty Usmar on 29 nett, Gary Carlon on 30, Ron Denny on 31, Kev Savage on 232 and Nigel Radin with 33.

Bob Werne won the trophy for the most travelled golfer on the day but wishes his score not to be disclosed.

Next Tuesday prepare for a fourball best ball stableford.  Please choose your partner early.
