This Thursday members will decide when they meet what competition to play.

On Saturday we joined the men playing a club sponsored single stroke competition.  Good scores were the order of the day, which saw Vicki McAulay (again!) win with 70 nett on a countback from Helen Ricciardi.  Rundowns went to Joan Kelly and Sophie Martell on 71, Sophie winning her rundown on a countback.

Members will join with the men in a fourball best ball this coming Saturday, so choose a partner for the competition. Hit off at 12:30pm.

Men

On Saturday members played a club sponsored single stroke competition in cool conditions which seemed to suit most players juding by the scores.

Blake Dowling played a one under par round to win A Division on 68 nett, followed by Brett Martell on 69, runner up on a countback from Clinton Dowling - after some confusing moments in judging.   Rundowns went to Mitch Anderson on 70, Mark Tedge and Neale Mittelheuser on 71 and Phil Luckett on 72.

Frank Rockett claimed the pinshot on 1 & 10, with Jack Smith claiming the approach.  Clinton Dowling won the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13 and Travis Mittelheuser the B Division pinshot.

Next Saturday for a change, members agreed to play a fourball, so please arrange a partner for the afternoon.  Hit off at 12:30 sharp!

Vets

With so many members playing at Maryborough, a select field of 14 players managed to enjoy a single stableford competition.  Kev Savage won the day with 35 points from Phil Luckett on 34, runner up on a countback from Val Plath who claimed 2nd runner up.  Jack Smith won the best nine holes with 21 points, a pity about the second nine.  Cynthia Draper eagled number one to win the approach.  Unfortunately leaving too soon after due to the shanks, not the shakes.

Jack Smith led the Chook Run winners with 29 nett, followed some distance behind by Val Plath and Phil Luckett on 35.  Michael Stanton the unlucky player to miss out on the spin.

Next week is the VIP Stroke event for May and will also be the first round of the Jan Mungomery Salver, our annual stroke competition to be run over six rounds.

Juniors

This Saturday was a Chip and Putt competition for all divisions.  In the 6 hole division there was a draw with Xavier Freeman and Cooper Rehbein both scoring 83. Well done boys!  In the 9 hole division Cooper Burns had a very good score of 62 to win from Kaitlyn Carige.  In the 13 hole division Zane Fitzgerald had a very impressive 57 to win from Christian Fredriksen with 66.

This Saturday Craig Swift will be coming along to conduct some coaching clinics.  All players need to be ready for a 7:30am start.

On Sunday the junior pennants team played in the final of the junior pennants against Bargara.  Unfortunately they fell one game short of taking the title with a 3 to 2 loss.  All players played well with Blake Dowling and Travis Mittelheuser winning their fixtures.  Overall this was a great result as Isis has not had a pennants team since the late 1990's. Well done to all concerned!

On Sunday Isis will be holding their annual Junior Carnival with over 100 junior players expected to compete.  Tee off time for 18 holers will be from 7:00am.  Players from as far as the Sunshine Coast and Central Queensland will travel to play in this event.  Good luck to all
