Golf Notes 13 October 2015

Margaret Dennett recorded 40 points to win the ladies' stableford on Thursday. Lisa Cooney was runner up with 36. Joan Wright won the ladies' approach, her second shot 3.31 metres from the hole.

Women

Margaret Dennett recorded 40 points to win the ladies' stableford on Thursday.  Lisa Cooney was runner up with 36.  Joan Wright won the ladies' approach, her second shot 3.31 metres from the hole. This Thursday members will play a random draw for a 2 person ambrose.

Kerry Schnack won the single stableford on Saturday with 40 points from Helen Ricciardi on 37 points.  Kerry also won the ladies approach on 4 & 13.

This Saturday the Vets golfers are sponsoring the day with plenty to look forward to during the afternoon/evening. 

Men

Members enjoyed a single stableford competition sponsored by the Club.  Norm Plath scored 37 points to win the day from Adrian Martin, runner up on a countback from recent triple winner Len Stallard.  Other rundowns went to Peter Hutton, Damien Dowling and Ross Nicol all on 35 points.

Larry Pershouse won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10 and Jack Smith the B Division approach.  On 4 & 13 Kev Savage won the A Division pinshot and Len Stallard the B Division pinshot.

This Saturday the Veterans Golf Association will sponsor the day so come and enjoy what will be a memorable afternoon/evening.

Vets

This week again many players emerged with top scores in both Divisions in the single stableford. In A Division Bill Cowan played to his age to earn 39 points and win on a countback from Peter Hutton, with Kev Savage third on 36 points.

In B Division Len Stallard almost pulled off another win, but was frustrated by Jennifer McKay beating him on a countback with 37 points.  Joan Wright came third with 36 points on a countback from Peter Withers.

The approaches were won by Kieth Rule for the men on 1 & 10, Len Stallard (in the hole) for the combined approach on 4 & 13 and Marg Dennett took the ladies approach on 6 & 15.

Len managed to lead the Chook Run winners with 29 nett, from Mick Ryan, Kev Savage, Terry Smallman, Peter Hutton and Cynthia Draper all with 33 nett.

Next week is the Ian & Jennifer McKay sponsored VIP day, our monthly stroke event and also the final round of the Jan Mungomery Salver.

Remember this Saturday we are sponsoring the main club's stableford competition.  If possible please bring a plate for after the game.
