Women

Thursday players grappled with the demanding bisque bogey competition with some outstanding scores.  Lisay Cooney won with plus 9, with Coralie Volgyesi only one shot behind as runner up.  Diane Rowley with plus 4 collected a rundown.  Margaret Dennett won the approach, just .64m from the hole.

This Thursday, numbers permitting, we will play a 4BBB with a random draw for partners.  Hit off at 8:30am.

Robyn Robinson continued her winning way recording nett 70 to win the Saturday April Monthly Medal goblet on a countback from the unlucky Sophie Martell.  Vicki McAulay won a rundown with nett 73, while Fiona Dowling won the approach on 6 & 15.  Robyn also scored a birdie on number 3, a fantastic feat on this hole, which is rated most difficult for women.

Next Saturday we play a single stableford with hit off at 12:30pm.  See you there

Men

Members are enjoying the cooler conditions for playing with a large number competing for the April Monthly Medals and many under par scores.

In A Division Clinton Dowling upstaged his sons to record 69 gross and nett 65 to win from Chris Crouch on 69, runner up on a countback from Kieth Rule.   Other rundowns went to Damien Dowling and Bill Cowan, both on 70 and Blake Dowling & Will Martell both on 71.  Blake had some consolation recording another eagle in his round.

Many afternoon players stayed to socialise after the game and enjoy the presentation.  Congratulations to the winners and special thanks to the ladies in the kitchen who prepared a delicious lunch and a tasty after game snack.  The Captain expressed his appreciation of the efforts of so many members to make the day a great success.

Juniors

The Junior Coordinator John Hinton wishes to bring attention to the following:

  • The winter revised tee off times.  These times should enable golfers to return to the club house at similar times for presentations
  • There will be no golf on ANZAC Day
  • The Isis Junior Carnival will be held 14 June
  • Doug Gardener will be visiting Wednesday 17 June.  If possible please come along for this afternoon coaching session at Isis.  Doug is an excellent coach and great with kids who are learning the basics.

Please encourage friends to consider golf for kids.  The game of golf is remarkably challenging and personally rewarding. It teaches etiquette and that all important life lesson - don't take things too seriously.  Perhaps the best part of golf is sharing your triumphs and tribulations with mates.  We need more mates to enjoy the game of golf with.
