Women

Coralie Volgyesi won the Thursday Bisque Bogey competition in style with a plus 7 score from runner up Joy Cartner, plus 1. Rose Cochrane collected the one rundown.  This Thursday we play a Fourball Best Ball.

In the Single Stableford competition played on Saturday, Cynthia Draper won with 33 points from Helen Ricciardi on 32.  Helen also scored the best nine holes with a score of 19 points.  Cynthia won the ladies approach on 4 & 13.

This Easter Saturday we are invited to play in a single stableford competition for a range of Easter prizes and including an Easter Raffle.  On Easter Monday the usual BBB competition will run for those needing a break from the Easter festivities.

Men

Des Wicks won the club sponsored single stableford competition with 38 points on a countback from Ivan Philpott, who was runner up on a countback from Michael Hickey.  Bob Champney won the best nine holes in a controversial decision.  Rundowns went to Clinton Dowling, Dave Robinson and Kev Savage with 37, with Roger Draper collecting the final rundown on 36 points.

Des also won the pinshot on 4 & 13 for A Division, and Ross Nicol for B Division.  Blake Dowling won the A Division Pinshot on 1 & 10, while Ken Albion won the B Division approach.

On Easter Saturday we again play a single stableford with an array of Easter prizes and a special Easter raffle, while on Easter Monday the usual public holiday BBB competition will be available for those needing their regular dose of golf.

Vets

One short of 40 players contested the Kieth Rule, Larry Pershouse sponsored April VIP Stroke competition, with preferred lies no longer available on orders from the Captain.

This did not hinder Kev Savage who routed the field to score 66 nett and win the A Division trophy, with Peter Hrelja runner up on 71.  Paul McCarragher won a rundown on 72, on a countback.

In B Division Kev Denham won with 68 nett, another fine score, from visitor Barry Lohmann on 70, with Ted Buckland's 73 earning him a rundown on a countback.

Cynthia Draper won the Women's Division with 71 nett from Val Plath whose 76 gave her runner up on a countback.  Coralie Volgyesi earned a rundown with her 76.

Rose Cochrane won the Women's approach although certain male members tried to take it from her, while Nigel Radin easily won the men's approach.  A pity it wasn't in the hole.

Kev Savage also scored a chicken in the Chook Run with 33 nett, accompanied by Cynthia Draper and Will Martell both on 33.  Norm Plath, & Kev Denham with 34, Graeme Burgess & Coralie Volgyesi on 35 and Ted Buckland on 36 on a spin rounded out the field.

All winners gratefully accepted the prizes presented by Kieth & Larry and thank you to them both.  Next Tuesday we return to Vet's favourite - the single stableford.  See you there for the 12 noon start.
