Saturday's notes included the Men's below

Men

The Sponsors’ Appreciation Day saw 15 teams representing club sponsors compete in the three person Ambrose event, cut to 9 holes when thunderstorms threatened players.

The I.G.A. Childers team of Nigel Radin, Dean Page and Ben Van Der Valk with a score of 27 5/6 nett claimed the perennial trophy which will be displayed in the shop over the coming 12 months.

Last year’s winner, Friendlies’ Pharmacy, represented by Peter Hutton, Norm Plath and Ken Albion, were runners-up with 28 5/12 nett. In third place were previous winners, Isis Tyres, represented by Clinton and Fiona Dowling and Wayne Faulkner, with Childers-Woodgate Funeral Services, represented by Peter Hrelja, Kerry Schnack and Sandra Kirk, in fourth place.

Unfortunately some teams didn’t complete 9 holes so special awards went to the Coles Engineering team of Jack Cole, Royce Blair and Damien Dowling who had been scoring very well and also to the Footes Childers Pharmacy team of Mick Ryan, Marc Harper and Dominic Mete.

Thank you again to our sponsors and to all who participated on the day – a special thanks to June yet again for preparing and serving the tasty snacks and to Gary Gretton for giving up his afternoon to keep the bar open.

This Saturday we return to the popular stableford competition – see you there for the 12:30 p.m. hit-off.
