Golf Notes 16 July 2017

Margaret Dennett with 34 points won the single stableford on Thursday on a countback from Vicki McAulay. Margaret also claimed the approach shot.

Margaret Dennett with 34 points won the single stableford on Thursday on a countback from Vicki McAulay. Margaret also claimed the approach shot.

Next Thursday we play a single stableford competition.

On Saturday Fiona Dowling won the single stableford with 39 points from Cythia Draper and Joan Wright, both on 36.  Vicki McAulay won the ladies' approach on 6 & 15.

Next Saturday will also be a single stableford.

Men

Instead of the scheduled Bill & Jan Kingston sponsored day, the Club held the popular single stableford.

Kev Savage returned to win A Division with 36 points on a countback from Michael Hickey. Rundowns went to Craig Reynolds and Clinton Dowling both with 34 points. 

Garry Willoughby recorded 38 points to win B Division from Ian McKay on 37.  Rundowns went to Ivan Philpott on 34 & Jeff Freeman on 33.

The two person Ambrose saw a tight finish, with Nigel Radin & Gary Gretton on 63 1/4 nett winning from Kieth Rule & Larry Pershouse on 63 3/4.  Ben Van Der Valk & Ray Walker were third on 66 nett.

Juniors

The Junior Championships continued with the following results:

The nine hole winner was Xavier Freeman, Six hole winner new member James Cocking, and Jacob Fallon-Ives was the three hole winner.

Unfortunately there has to be a two week break from play due to Club Championships next Sunday, and the Childers Festival the week after.
