Women

Thursday players enjoyed perfect weather for their single stableford competition won by Cecily Fay with 32 points, from Joan Wright on 31. Vicki McAulay won the rundown on a countback from Rose Cochrane.

In spite of persistent rain, most of the women competitors in the single stableford competition persevered, in contrast to their male counterparts. They deserve to be congratulated!

Robyn Robinson led the way with 37 points from Vicki McAulay on 35, with rundowns to Helen Ricciardi and Cecily Fay.  Sophie Martell won the best nine with 17 points, while Fiona Dowling put her second shot only .31m from the pin to win the ladies approach.

This Saturday we again play a single stableford competition for a club trophy.  Read the men's notes for information about the following Saturday (June 28).

A reminder: The first round of the Nash Bowl Match Play is to be played on or before June 20 by the following players: Helen Ricciardi vs Fiona Dowling, Cynthia Draper vs Val Plath, Joan Wright vs Cecily Fay and Robyn Robinson vs Joy Cartner.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Foursomes Championships have been changed from Saturday June 28 to Sunday June 29. Hit off at 11:00am.  Please see the flyer at Clubhouse for details.

Men

The predicted rain arrived just as most players had completed nine holes.  The steadily falling rain convinced most male competitors to end their round with a small number of hardy players competing the 18.

The small number left were grouped into one division for the single stableford.  Will Martell had easily the best round in tough conditions, scoring 39 points to win from Dave Robinson on 36, with rundowns to John Hinton, Mark McAulay and Clinton Dowling.  Brett Martell had the best nine hole score of 18 points.

Kev Savage was a mere .07m from the hole with his pinshot on 1 & 10 - almost a hole in one! John Hinton was the only pinshot winner on 4 & 13, winning the B Division pinshot.

This Saturday members again compete in a single stableford for a club trophy.  On the following Saturday (June 28), members have an opportunity to support Blake Dowling on his trip to Melbourne to compete in the Aaron Baddeley Invitation Event.  As this is the scheduled combined Isis/Social Golf Club Day, we have programmed a two person Ambrose event followed by a barbeque supper.

SPECIAL NOTE: The Foursomes Championships have been changed from Saturday June 28 to Sunday June 29. Hit off at 11:00am.  Please see the flyer at Clubhouse for details.

Vets

On Tuesday members played a fourball best ball stableford, the first in quite a while.  Rusty Usmar was in great touch (again!) and together with Bob Carne compiled 46 points, to win on a countback from Ray Walker and Gary Gretton.  Dave Robinson and Mark McAulay recorded 44 points to be second runners up, while Craig Reynolds and Bill Herring won the beste nine holes on a countback with 24 points.

Cecily Fay was .13m from the hole to win the Ladies Approach, while Kev Savage was a little further away to win the men's.

Chook Run winners were: Val Plath, Kieth Rule and Rusty Usmar all on 31 nett, Kev Denham on 32 and Ed Connell with 33.

Next Tuesday be prepared for an early start at 9:00am for an 18 hole single stableford with visitors from Maryborough here for a return match.  Currently shield holders, but this could change come next Tuesday.

We hope players bring a plate for an after game snack.

Juniors

Last weekend was the June Monthly Medal with some good scores recorded in all grades.  In the six hole event Cooper Rehbein had a nett score of 19, which was 5 shots under his handicap, to win from Ryan Blinco with a nett 23.  In the nine hole division Wesley Hinton had a nice round of 65 to take out the medal in this division.  The thirteen hole event was closely contested with Christian Fredriksen winning with a nett 51 from Zane Fitzgerald on 56 nett.

This week will be a Chip and Putt competition with all play starting at 7:30am.  See you there!
