Golf Notes 18 August 2015

There was no Thursday competition due to the Wide Bay District Vets 4BBB being held at Isis. This Thursday members will determine the competition before hit off at 8:30am.

Women

There was no Thursday competition due to the Wide Bay District Vets 4BBB being held at Isis.  This Thursday members will determine the competition before hit off at 8:30am.

Last Saturday members played in the club sponsored single stableford.  Lisa Cooney continued her winning form recording 39 points to claim the trophy from Robyn Robinson on 35.  Helen Ricciardi claimed the rundown with 34, and Cynthia Draper won the ladies approach on 4 & 13.

Next Saturday the IGA sponsored day has been postponed so it will be a club day, with the competition to be a Bisque Bogey for a change.

Men

Members enjoyed a club sponsored single stableford, the scores indicating that the course is still playing well.  Will Martell with 39 points won the competition from Roger Draper on 38 and Bob Werne on 37.

Rundowns went to Ross Nicol on 36, Michael Stanton and Norm Plath on 35, Dave Robinson and Len Stallard both on 34.  Steve Cole won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, Bill Herring the B Division approach, while Will Martell won the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

This week the IGA sponsored day has been postponed and we willl hold a club sponsored day playing a Bisque Bogey. 

Vets

This week members played in the Michael and Malcolm sponsored Monthly VIP single stroke competition. Good scores were recorded as the course is fast and fair. 

Col Dennett led the way with 64 nett to win A Division from Phil Luckett on 70 and Kev Savage on 74.

Kev Denham won B Division with 68 nett from Ted Buckland and Adrian Martin, both scoring 70 nett with Ted claiming second on a countback. 

Robyn Robinson, Lisa Cooney and Monica Madsen each recorded 68 nett, with Robyn winning on a countback. Lisa claimed second from Monica.  Jack Smith won the Bradmans for the day.

The approaches were won by: Phil Luckett for the men on 1 & 10, Norm Plath runner up.  Robyn Robinson claimed the women's approach on 6 & 15, with Monica Madsen runner up. Col Dennett won the combined approach, by putthing his second shot in the hole, with Kev Denham leaving his ball hanging over the hole to be runner up.

Robyn Robinson and Phil Luckett led the Chook Run winners both on 29, from Col Dennett on 31, Coralie Volgyesi, Adrian Martin adn Kev Denham all on 32 rounded out the winners.

Next Tuesday those members who are not travelling to Maryborough will decide before play what competition will be contested.  Hit off at 12 noon.
