Golf Notes 18 February 2017

On Thursday Joan Wright recorded 72 nett to win the single stroke competition. Cecily Fay was second on 77 and Kerry Schnack won a rundown on 78. New member Debra Olive won the approach on 6 & 15.

Women

On Thursday Joan Wright recorded 72 nett to win the single stroke competition.  Cecily Fay was second on 77 and Kerry Schnack won a rundown on 78.  New member Debra Olive won the approach on 6 & 15.

This Thursday ladies are to enjoy a par event.

On Saturday nominated players competed in the sponsored single Match Play in conjunction with a single stableford competition, open to all members.

Helen Ricciardi had a field day winning the single stableford competition with 39 points from Fiona Dowling on 36.  Rundowns went to Monica Madsen on 35, Coralie Volgyesi on 35 and Rae McCliskie on 32.

Helen also won the approach on 6 & 15.

This Saturday members join in the two person Ambrose sponsored by Isis Tyre Service.  See you there for the 12:30pm hit off.

Men

On Saturday nominated players in A & B Divisions competed in Round 1 of the Woodgate Beach Hotel sponsored single Match Play, as well as a concurrent single stableford competition for those who wished to compete in both.

In A Division Kev Denham recorded 39 points to win from Craig Reynolds on 34, second on a countback from Ray Walker.  A Rundown went to Mark McAulay on 32.

Larry Pershouse with 41 points won B Division, with Ken Albion second with 35 points.  Rundowns went to Phil Pearce and Ivan Philpott both on 33 points.

Phil won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, Nigel Radin the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13, and Phil the B Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

Results of the Match Play competition are on the notice board.

Members appreciated the trophies donated by the Hotel and the savouries prepared by June & Marlene.

Vets

Last Tuesday Nigel Radin and Larry Pershouse won the 4BBB stableford with 46 points.  Michael Stanton and Ben van Der Valk were second with 43 points. Harry Zawacki and Darryl Johnstone were third on 43 points.  Dean page combined with non-vet Royce Blair to also record 43 points.

The men's approach on 1 & 10 was won by Darryl Johnstone, the combined approach on 4 & 13 was won by Nigel Radin, and the women's approach on 6 & 15 was won by Rae McCliskie.

Chook Run winners were Nigel Radin on 30, Michael Stanton, Vicki McAulay and Kieth Rule all on 31.

This Tuesday members play the monthly VIP Stroke event, sponsored by Len Stallard.
