Golf Notes 18 June 2017

On Thursday Jennifer McKay recorded 36 points to win the single stableford from Joan Wright on 34 points.

WOMEN

On Thursday Jennifer McKay recorded 36 points to win the single stableford from Joan Wright on 34 points.  Chris Simpson with 1.67 metres won the approach on 1 & 10.  Next Thursday members play a single stroke competition which will be good practice for those playing foursomes on Saturday.

On Saturday, Jennifer again won the competition, but this time with 40 points! Fiona Dowling was runner up on a countback from Helen Ricciardi and our visitor, Iona Cronin.  Jennifer also won the approach on 6 & 15 with .64metres.

MEN

Reminder: The draw for Seb & Allan’s Match Play is posted on the club house notice board.  The 1st round is to be completed by July 08, President vs Captain’s Match play day.

In the Club sponsored single stableford on Saturday, Kieth Rule won with 38 points from Steve Cole on 37.  Rundowns went to Ben Van Der Valk, Clinton Dowling, both on 37 and Dean Page on 35.

Phil Pearce continued his winning way with a score of 42 points to claim the round of the day and win B Division from Royce Blair on 38 points.  Rundowns went to Ian McKay, Glen Rohdman and Bill Herring all on 37 points.

VETS

With the Childerborough Cup in the hands of Maryborough again, members need to divise a strategy to even the playing field in the future.

In the single stableford, Phil Luckett recorded 41 points to win A Division from Ben Van Der Valk, and Helen Ricciardi on 37 points.

Phil Pearce won the B Division with 35 points on a countback from Rusty Usmar and Vicki Wyeth on 33 points.

Next Tuesday members compete in a VIP single stroke sponsored by the Woodgate gang.  This competition will be played in conjunction with the second round of the Jan Mungomery Salver competition.  

JUNIORS

Juniors competed for the June Monthly Medals on Sunday with the following results.

Nicholas Corsetti won the 6 hole competition with a nett 17.  New member Michael Richardson won the 9 hole Monthly Medal with a nett score of 34.  Competitions begin again Sunday 02 July, at 9:30am following the school holidays.

A reminder: The free 2 day school golf clinic will take place in the first week of the school holidays on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June beginning at 2:00pm, with our popular professional Mick Murnane.
