Golf Notes 20 August 2017

On Saturday, Life Member Joan Wright sponsored a stableford competition for Men's A & B Divisions and the Ladies' Division. Thank you to Joan from our members.

Women

On Thursday, with Joan being the sponsor a varied competition was played, which was various competitions all thrown in together. Kerry Schnack & Chris Simpson won with 69 nett, Leanne Windeknecht and Vicki Wyeth were next on 71, and Vicki McAulay & Ilma Kidd were third on 79.  An enjoyable day for all.

Next Thursday, members play for the September Monthly Medal.

In Saturday's competition, Fiona Dowling with 36 points continued her winning form, with Cynthia Draper next on 35 and Helen Ricciardi and Val Plath receiving rundown balls.  Val also won the approach on 6 & 15 with 1.19m.

Next Saturday will be the Monthly Medal competition.

Men

Dean Page won A Division with 40 points from Craig Reynolds on 38.  Rundowns went to Michael Hickey on 38, Nigel Radin on 37 and Peter Steel on 35.

One of our visitors Brian Smith won the B Division on 41 points from Mark McAulay on 38, with rundowns to Gary Gretton on 38, and Graham Kirby, Kev Denham and another visitor Kev Brauer all on 36.

Michael Stanton & Phil Pearce contested the final of the Seb & Allan's Matchplay Championship, with Michael winning 2 & 1.

Next week members play for the September Monthly Medals.

Vets

On Tuesday Isis hosted the WBVGA 4BBB Medley, with home players taking advantage of the familiarity with local conditions.

Nigel Radin & Gary Gretton led the way with 50 points from Ken Backhaus & Chris Simpson on 46 point earning runner up.  Next was Kev Hackney & Michael Stanton on 45, Allan Peters & Lou Jessen with 44 on a countback from Len Stallard & Dominic Mete.

With 16 approach shot winners the number is too great to enter here. 

This Tuesday, members play a single stableford competition as the 4BBB Medley last week replaced our planned 4BBB for this week.

Juniors

Bailey Jarick won the 9 hole Monthly Medal, and James Cocking won the 6 hole medal.  Next week we are playing a chip and putt competition. 

A reminder that Golf Queensland is offering a two day golfing camp in the first week of the September school holidays - more information to come on that event.
