Vets

The fifth round of the single stroke competition for the Jan Mungomery Salver combined with the V.I.P. competition for September was sponsored by Ian and Jennifer McKay.

The competitive field played in three Divisions – the Men’s A, Men’s B and Ladies’. With so many prizes on offer, this writer has been very selective in recording winners.

In A Division, Colin Dennett recorded nett 66 to win from Michael Hickey on 68, with Kev Denham 3rd on 71. In B Division, Dean Page won with 71 nett from Harry Zawacki on 72, with Peter Hutton 3rd also on 72.

Vicki McAulay won with nett 75 from Val Plath on 77, 2nd on a countback from Lisa Cooney. Di Rowley managed to record the most travelled round.

The list of approach winners is so extensive there is insufficient space to list all thirteen of them.

Col Dennett and Jack Smith led the Chook Run winners (both nett 30) from Rusty Usmar and Kev Denham (both 31), claiming the last chickens on a spin.

A very big thank you to Jennifer and Ian for their generous sponsorship, nearly every player rewarded with a prize and satisfied gastronomically.

Next week members play a 4 BBB stableford competition – see you there for the 12 noon hit-off.
