Men & Women
Members and visitors enjoyed a two person Ambrose on Saturday, as the official 2017 season got underway. Peter & Narelle Russo sponsored the day, with Peter hitting the first drive, the cane field proving to be quite an attraction.
In the member/member category, Clinton & Fiona Dowling won with 61.5 nett from Steve and John cole on 62.25, followed by Ross Nicol and Bill Herring on 62.75, and Nigel Radin & Niel Rieck on 63 nett.
Phil Pearce and Ken Riddiford won the pinshot on 1 & 10, and Bill Herring and Ross Nicol on 4 & 13. Vicki and Mark McAulay won the approach on 6.
In the member/visitor category, Chris Crouch and Rick Limpus recorded an incredible 57.7 nett to outstrip the small field there.
Rae McCliskie and Kevin Leary received a NAGA award, with Rae commended for playing with 2 male partners.
Craig Dixon's name was drawn to win the free membership for 2017. May he use it well.
Players were treated to a fine repast after the game before Peter presented the trophies on his and Narelle's behalf. Players expressed their appreciation for the generous sponsorship.
Next Saturday members might expect a single stroke competition after the numerous stableford competitions of recent weeks.
Vets
The Vets 2017 season begins this Tuesday at the usual hit off time of 12:00 noon. All members and intending members are invited to join the Committee on the day.
The following Tuesday heralds the first VIP Stroke event sponsored by the McAulays and the Volgyesis. See you at both events!
The next competition for the main club will be held Australia Day 26 January, with a 12:30pm hit off.
