Women

In the Thursday Bisque Bogey competition Coralie Volgyesi again won the day with plus 6, from Val Plath on plus 4 - careful use of their handicaps! Vicki Wyeth collected a rundown with plus 3. This Thursday the Vets are joining us for a single stableford with hit off at 12 noon.

On Saturday we combined with the men to play a fourball best ball competition sponsored by the Isis Vets.  The results are in the men's section of the notes.  Congratulations to Cynthia Draper, in particular for her eagle on the 5th hole and to Joan Wright for being part of the winning team.  Thanks to the Vets for their generosity.

This Saturday we play a club sponsored single stableford with the usual hit off time of 12:30pm.  Join us there!

Men

The Isis Vets sponsored a fourball best ball stableford competition on Saturday with close scoring the order of the day.  Visitor Russell Albion and partner Joan Wright finished stronly to record 47 stableford points to win by one from Len Stallard and Niel Rieck, with Phil Luckett and Ken Albion also one point back as 2nd runners up.  They were followed by Cynthia Draper and Val Plath another point away as 3rd runners up. Three pairs also collected rundowns.

Larry Pershouse won the approach on 1 & 10, Niel Rieck the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13, and Fiona Dowling took out the ladies approach - 10cm from the hole.

As expected the Vets platters were ample and tasty. Thanks to the ladies present for organising and arranging the delicacies and thanks to the Vets for their generous sponsorship.

The Committee has scheduled a working bee for next Tuesday which includes coring of the greens, and cutting down and removing dead trees, with starting time by 8:00am. If at all possible be there to help with utes, trailers, shovels, rakes and any other appropriate equipment. 

Vets

Paul and Tracey from Childers Home Hardware again sponsored a club competition, this time for the Vets VIP Monthly Stroke combined with the final round of the stroke lay for the Jan Mungomery Salver.

A Division was very closely contested, with Nigel Radin on 68 nett winning from three others on 69 nett.  Kev Savage was runner up on a countback from Kieth Rule 2nd runner up on a countback, with Col Dennett unlucky to miss out on the same score.

Mick Ryan recorded 71 nett to lead the B Division field from runner up Terry Smallman on 72, from Bob Werne 2nd runner up on a countback.

Joan Wright won the women's competition on 74 nett from runner up Vicki Wyeth on 75, with Marg Dennett 2nd runner up on 76.

Coralie Volgyesi won the women's approach, in the hole! Col Dennett won the men's approach also in the hole!

Kev Savage led the Chook Run winners with 29 nett followed by Col Dennett, Kieth Rule, Coralie Volgyesi and Gary Carlon (all on 30), with Bob Werne on 33 winning the last bird on a spin.

Next week's single stableford has been moved to Thursday and we join the ladies for a 12 noon hit off.  Our sponsors being temporary members Ian & Jennifer McKay.
