Golf Notes 23 April 2017

Royce Blair claimed the winner's trophy with 42 stableford points for our Easter BBB competition. Dean Page was runner up on 38, with rundowns going to Chris Crouch on 35 and Damien Dowling on 34.

Easter Monday BBB

Royce Blair claimed the winner's trophy with 42 stableford points for our Easter BBB competition.  Dean Page was runner up on 38, with rundowns going to Chris Crouch on 35 and Damien Dowling on 34.

Chris won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, Michael Stanton the B Division approach and Damien took the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13 putting his ball in the hole.

Women

Joan Wright won the single stroke competition on Thursday with 73 nett from Lisa Cooney on 75.  Chris Simpson won the approach on 1 & 10.

This Thursday members play the popular bisque bogey.

On Saturday, the heavy showers left only two members playing with Lisa Cooney winning from Joan Wright.  Next Saturday members play in a club sponsored single stableford competition for the fine array of prizes from the postponed Childers Pharmacy sponsored day.

Men

On Saturday, Peter Russo recorded 37 points to win the club sponsored stableford competition from Ray Walker and Larry Pershouse both on 35.  Rundowns went to Craig Reynolds on 34, Michael Stanton 33, and Geoff Jarrett and Bill Herring both on 31.

Larry won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, Ray Walker the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13. 

This Saturday members will play a single stableford competition with prizes being those from the Childers Pharmacy sponsored day which was washed out earlier in the year. 

Results of the Isis Men's Open day held on 23 April will be presented next week.

Vets

Clinton & Fiona Dowlling sponsored this month's VIP stroke competition ad offered very appropriate prizes and a tasty after game snack.

In Division 1 Mark McAulay recorded 68 nett to win from Kieth Rule on a countback. Michael Stanton was third on 69 and Larry Pershouse came in next with 71. 

In Division 2, Peter Hutton won with 71 nett from Barry Steinke on 76, Darryl Johnstone and Ben Van Der Valk got rundowns on 77.

In the Ladies division Monica Madsen won with 71 nett from Lisa Cooney on 73.  Rundowns went to Rae McCliskie and Joy Cartner both on 76.

Next week members are invited to play in the club sponsored ANZAC Day stroke competition with ladies playing for the Ruddy Memorial Trophy. Hit off at 12 noon.

Kieth Rule won the A Division Approach on 1 & 10, Larry Pershouse the B Division Approach on 1 & 10, Bill Herring (in the hole) won the A Division approach on 4 & 13 and Darryl Johnstone won the B Division approach on 4 & 13.  Rae McCliskie won the ladies approach on 6 & 15.

Chook Run winners were: Mark McAulay, Michael Stanton & Kieth Rule all with 31, Larry Pershouse and Rae McCliskie both on 32.
