Golf Notes 23 July 2017

The Mixed Foursomes Championship event took place on a balmy Sunday this year. Clinton & Fiona Dowling again triumphed, winning with a score of 117, from Chris Crouch & Helen Ricciardi on 130, on a countback from Nigel Radin & Kerry Schnack.

The Mixed Foursomes Championship event took place on a balmy Sunday with hit off at 10:30am.  The event was followed by a tasty snack prepared by Jan & Marlene, which was very much appreciated ladies.

Clinton & Fiona Dowling again triumphed, winning with a score of 117, from Chris Crouch & Helen Ricciardi on 130, on a countback from Nigel Radin & Kerry Schnack.

Ben Van Der Valk & Leanne Windkknecht won the nett with a score of 103.5 from Michael Stanton & Chris Simpson on 105.25.  Peter Hrelja & Cecily Fay won the 18 hole competition.

Approach shots were won by Phil Luckett & Joan Wright on both 6 & 1 & 10, and Roger and Cynthia Draper on 4 & 13.

Ben & Leanne recorded an eagle on the 18th.  A great day of golf on the old Doolbi links.

Women

Margaret Dennet won on Thursday with 34 points, from Leanne Windeknecht on 33 & Joy Cartner on 32.  Kerry Schnack won the approach on 3.

Next Thursday, the competition will be determined before hit off.

On Saturday Val Plath won the single stableford with 37 points, from Cynthia Draper on 35.  Cynthia also won the approach on 6 & 15.  Next Saturday will be a sponsored day.

Men

On Saturday in the stableford competition, Chris Crouch with 67 off the stick recorded 40 points to win from Ray Walker on 38.  Phil Luckett, Bill Herring, Bryden Blair & Kev Savage all received rundowns on 36.

Next Saturday we play the Friendlies Pharmacy sponsored competition, which is still to be decided.

Vets

VIP Day included the 3rd round of the Jan Mungomery Salver, with Ken & Phil sponsoring the day.Unfortunately for Phil, he led the A Division competition and claimed the VIP win, but as a sponsor could not claim the winner's prize.

In A Division Larry Pershouse won with 70 nett from Kev Hackney on 72, and Kev Savage on 74.  In B Division Gary Gretton won with 69 nett from Harry Zawacki on 71 and Garry Willoughby on 72. 

Chris Simpson won the Ladies' Division with 71 nett on a countback from Vicki McAulay. Cynthia Draper was next with 72.
