Thursday players enjoyed fine conditions with Vicki Wyeth winning the club sponsored stableford competition on 40 points! Joy Cartner took out the runner up position with 32 points.  Vicki McAulay won the rundown on a countback from Marg Dennett and Joan Wright.  This week we play the three clubs and putter event.

On Saturday the few women present joined in the combined men and women's competition with the results in the mens notes.

This Saturday we again join with the men in a fourball stableford competition with secret partners determined by a draw.  Play well and hope your partner plays well.

Men

Another day of threatening rain drew a smaller number than usual with the windy conditions making scoring more difficult for most, with only one player breaking par on the day.  Two divisions combining men and women completed in the IGA sponsored single stableford.

In A Division, Norm Plath's 34 points were enough to win from Kieth Rule on 33, with Cynthia Draper winning the best nine holes scoring 17 points.

In B Division Larry Pershouse had the score of the day with 38 points, well ahead of Mark McAulay on 32, with Ken Albion's 17 points winning him the best nine.

Mark won the nearest the pin on 1 & 10, while Cynthia won the combined approach on the same hole.

This Saturday will be a Club sponsored stableford fourball with a secret partner, so come along, play your best and hope your partner does the same.

Vets

This Tuesday another strong field contested the single stableford competition, with the fine early spring weather offering perfect golfing conditions.

The outright winner for the day with 38 points was Barry Steinke, enjoying a consistent round.  Norm Plath then led A Division on 37 points from Col Dennett on 35 and Cynthia Draper on 34, with Dave Robinson claiming the best nine on 20 points - his other nine not to be mentioned.

Popular winner in B Division was Mick Ryan with 37 points, from Ray Burrows on 36 and Kev Denham on 34, with Larry Pershouse's 20 points earning him the best nine hole score.  Bob Cochrane claimed the men's approach on 4 & 13 while Joy Cartner did the same for the ladies.

Bob Cochrane again led the Chook Run winners with nett 30, followed by Mick Ryan on 31, Larry Pershouse and Vicki McAulay both on 32 and Cynthia Draper and Norm Plath with 33.

Next Tuesday is the second day of Spring and we play a stroke versus par competition which is also the first round of the Cooper Cup for 2014.  See you there for a 12 noon hit off.
