Golf Notes 27 September 2016

On Thursday Lisa Cooney again led the field in the 3 clubs plus putter event, winning with 34 points from Joy Cartner on 31. Sandy Kirk won a rundown and Kerry Schack won the approach.

Women

On Thursday Lisa Cooney again led the field in the 3 clubs plus putter event, winning with 34 points from Joy Cartner on 31.  Sandy Kirk won a rundown and Kerry Schack won the approach.

This Thursday's competition to be arranged.

On Saturday Joy Cartner won the club sponsored single stableford competition with 35 points from Vicki McAulay on 34 points. Fiona Dowling won a rundown on 32 points. Vicki (0.27m) also won the ladies’ approach.

This Saturday, we play for the Monthly Medal for October. See you there with a plate.

Men

Members enjoyed a club sponsored single stableford competition on Saturday.  Only one score was better than par, which was Damien Dowling’s score of 37 points. With a score of 36 points Ray Walker edged out Michael Hickey on a countback for second. Mick received the first rundown, followed by Harry Zawacki (35), Bill Cowan (33), Bill Herring and Ken Albion (32).

Damien (6.5m) was also nearest the pin off the tee in A Division, with Garry Willoughby (1.1m) nearest the pin in B Division with his second shot. Clinton Dowling (3.15m) won the A Division pinshot on 4&13, with Peter Hutton (5.2m) winning the B Division pinshot.

This weekend members compete for the A and B Division October Monthly Medals, with players requested to please a plate.

Vets

All players managed to find partners for the fourball best ball stableford competition on Tuesday afternoon.

Visitor David Munt and Jennifer McKay recorded 44 points to win from Col Dennett and Barry Steinke on 43, second on a countback from Larry Pershouse and Joy Cartner, third on a countback from Joan Wright and Garry Willoughby.

The approaches were won by: Harry Zawacki and John Henderson (0.49m) on 1&10; Joan Wright and Garry Willoughby (0.2m) on 4&13; and John Henderson and Harry Zawacki (0.45m) on 6&15.

Coralie Volgyesi led the Chook Run winners with a nett 28 score, from Joan Wright on 29, with Norm Plath and David Munt both on 30, winning one each on a spin.
