Golf Notes 28 April 2015

Kerry Schnack enjoyed her first Thursday competition, recording 42 points to win the single stableford competition from Diane Rowley on 39 points, with Lisa Cooney winning a rundown on 38.

Women

Kerry Schnack enjoyed her first Thursday competition, recording 42 points to win the single stableford competition from Diane Rowley on 39 points, with Lisa Cooney winning a rundown on 38. Coralie Volgyesi won best nine holes with 20 points.  Vicki McAulay was nearest the pin with her second shot to win the ladies approach.

This Thursday we will be playing a single stableford again with an 8:00am hit off.

On ANZAC Day Rae McCliskie scored 71 nett to win the AG Paul Memorial Trophy kindly donated annually by the Ruddy Family.  Sophie Martell was runner up on 72. Rundowns went to Coralie Volgyesi and Helen Ricciardi.  Sophie also won the ladies approach, .23 metres from the hole.

Next Saturday we play for the May Monthly Goblet, hit off at 12:30pm.  Remember to bring a plate.

Men

A warm ANZAC Day afternoon invited a good number of players in the annual single stroke event with appropriate ANZAC trophies, with a number of players recording excellent scores.

Michael Stanton won A Division with 65 nett, one stroke ahead of runner up Mark Tedge.  Rundowns went to Norm Plath on 67, Will Martell on 69 and Damien Dowling on 72.

Curtis Fredriksen recorded 63 nett to be the runaway winner in B Division with Roger Draper runner up on 69.  Rundowns went to Len Stallard, Bob Champney and Brett Martell all on 72 nett.

Dave Robinson won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10 and Ross Nicol the B Division approach.  Ray Walker the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13 and Adrian Martin the B Division approach.

A reminder: Pairs Matchply final is to be played on or before Saturday June 13.  Peter Russo & Rodney Wagner versus Kieth Rule & Larry Pershouse. 

Next Saturday members again play in a single stroke competition for the May Monthly Medals.  Remember to bring a plate.  Hit off at 12:30pm.

Vets

The stroke versus par competition proved as challenging as expected with a few players registering a positive result.

Vicki Wyeth managed to record plus 3, and be the overall winner for the day, on a countback from Joy Cartner.

Norm Plath won A Division with plus 2 on a countback from Michael Stanton, with Ray Walker 2nd runner up on plus 1.  Helen Ricciardi won the best nine holes with plus 3.

Joy Cartner won B Division with her plus 3 score from Coralie Volgyesi on plus 2 and Ian McKay on plus 1.  Bob Champney won best nine holes with plus 2.

Mark McAulay won the men's approach and Vicki made it a family affair winning the women's approach. Michael Stanton won the combined approach.

Michael also led the Chook Run winners with 31 nett, from Joy Cartner and Larry Pershouse both on 32, Adrian Martin, Kieth Rule, Vicki Wyeth and Vicki McAulay all on 33 on a spin.

Next Tuesday we enjoy a return to a more friendly single stableford. See you there for the 12 noon hit off.
