Golf Notes 28 July 2015

Joan Wright scored 34 points to win the Thursday single stableford from Coralie Volgyesi on 31 points, runner up on a countback from Diane Rowley who claimed the rundown.

Women

Jennifer McKay won the approach shot for the day.

This Thursday we will decide which competition before hitting off at 8:30am.

This Saturday we have the opportunity to win the August Monthly Goblet.  See you there for the 12.30 hit off.

Men

High scores were the feature of the day in the Bill and Jan Kingston sponsored day on a lovely spring afternoon.

Curtis Fredriksen led the single stableford competition in the Men's division with 41 points, while Helen Ricciardi won the Women's division with 40 points.

Len Stallard and Lisa Cooney with 40 points each led the combined rundowns, with Larry Pershouse, Cynthia Draper, Kev Savage and Joy Cartner all on 39 points gaining the remaining rundowns.

Dave Robinson won the A Dvision pinshot on 1 & 10, with Christian Fredriksen winning the B Division approach.  Will Martell won the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13, with Ian McKay claiming the B Division pintshot.  Helen Ricciardi won the ladies' approach on the same hole.

Another very pleasant day ended with Bill providing a continuation of the tasty snacks handed out on the way round, plus a cheese and cracker platter.  Thank you Bill and Jan for the snacks and the prizes for the winning players.

This Saturday we compete fr the August Monthly Medal, with time running out to join those already with a medal.

Vets

A very large field contested the single stableford competition on Tuesday, with the field now growing towards the 50 mark. 

Mark McAulay scored 41 points to win A Division from Kev Savage on 38, with Craig Reynolds 3rd on 36.  In B Division Val Plath won with 35 points from Bob Cochrane on 33, 2nd on a countback from Rusty Usmar placed 3rd.

Kev Savage won the men's approach on 1 & 10, Paul McCarragher the combined approach on 4 & 13 and Val Plath the women's approach on 6 & 15.

Val with nett 30 also led the Chook Run winners from Ray Burrows on 32, Coralie Volgyesi, Vicki McAulay, Mick Ryan and Jack Smith all on 33, Barry Steinke and Bob Cochrane on 34. 

Next Tuesday members play another single stableford, with hit off at noon.
