Women

In the Thursday snigle stableford competition Coralie Volgyesi again won the day with an impressive score of 41 points to win from Vicki McAulay on 35 points.  Joy Cartner, returning for her first game in 6 weeks, collected a rundown. Welcome back Joy. Robyn Robinson won the approach.

This Thursday the Vets join us for a single stableford competition with hit off at 12 noon, sponsored by popular visitors Ian & Jennifer McKay.  Be prepared for the recently cored greens.

On Saturday members played a single stableford, partly sponsored by Russell Albions' donation, with Vicki McAulay scoring 35 points for the second time in the week to win from Joan Wright on 33,  Val Plath scored a rundown on 32 points.  Helen Ricciardi scored 20 points to win the best nine holes, while Joy Cartner won the approach on 1 & 10.

This Saturday we play the final Saturday Monthly Goblet, made a little more difficult with the greens so recently cored.  A reminder to bring a plate for an after game snack.

Men

The best field for quite a while (Including 3 visitors) competed in the single stableford partly sponsored by Russell Albion's donation, with some very competitive scores, particularly in the A Division.

Mick Hickey's 39 points enabled him to win A Division by one point from Will Martell, with Kev Savage leading the rundowns on 37 points.  Leigh Cronin won the best nine holes with 18 points.

Larry Pershouse was outstanding in B Division recording 41 points, with runner up Mark McAulay eight points back on 33, and Adrian Martin leading the rundowns on 31.  Ken Albion managed to claim the best nine with 17 points.

Leigh Cronin (former and returning member) also won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, with Larry Pershouse putting his approach shot nearest the pin in B Division.  No pinshots were recorded on 4 & 13.

This Saturday members play for the last Monthly Medal for 2014 and the chance to play in the Medal of Medallists final.  With the greens so recently cored, playing might prove a little more difficult than usual.  Best of luck to those yet to claim a medal this year.

It is also the last chance to bring a plate for an after game snack.

Final reminder: Time is running out to complete both Seb's and pair's match play championship competitions. Remaining qualifiers please check the notice board and arrange the next match with your opponent.

Vets

A great turnout for the working bee meant the greens were cored, sanded, fertilised and watered by early afternoon and the trees on the shed side of the course cut down and cut into removable lengths ready for a follow up on Wednesda.  We hope for another good roll up to finish that task on both sides of the highway.

It is almost impossible to express the thanks of the Committee members to all members who were involved in these demanding physical tasks on such a hot day.  The efforts are greatly appreciated, as were the efforts of the ladies who provided us with a much needed smoko break!

Obviously there is no report for Tuesday's competition which has been moved to Thursday and members join with the lady members for a single stableford sponsored by our visitors Ian & Jennifer McKay.

Play will remain at the 12 noon hit off and not at the usual starting time for the ladies.

Full details of the results for this Thursday and next Tuesday in next week's golf notes.
