Members had the opportunity to play three days in a row this week - the regular Thursday competition, the single stroke competition on ANZAC Day for the AG Paul Memorial Trophy donated by the Ruddy family, and in the Footes Childers Pharmacy sponsored single stableford on Saturday.

On Thursday Joy Cartner won with 34 points, one ahead of Helen Ricciardi, with Vicki McAulay winning the best nine holes.  Helen also won the approach.  This Thursday is the Monthly Goblet for May.

On ANZAC Day Helen Ricciardi won on a countback from Sophie Martell, both scoring 72 nett.  Rundowns went to Cecily Fay, Joan Wright and Fiona Dowling.  Helen again won the approach.

On Saturday, in the Childers Pharmacy sponsored single stableford, Vicki McAulay turned around a disastrous Friday round to record 38 points to win the competition from Fiona Dowling on 34 points.  Rae McCliskie won the best nine holes with17 points.

The Monthly Goblet for May will be played this Saturday, with members asked to bring a plate for an after game snack.

Men

A couple of heavy showers interrupted the ANZAC Day BBB single stroke competition with a few pulling out, but most played on.  Peter Steel won the A Division on 67 nett followed by Peter Hrelja on 70.  Rundowns went to Clinton Dowling and Kev Savage, with Clinton also winning the approach.  In B Division Travis Mittelheuser won on a countback from visitor Simon Crabbe, both scoring 69 nett.  Rundowns went to Mark McAulay and Bob Cochrane.

On Saturday in perfect golfing weather members played a single stableford generously sponsored by Footes Childers Pharmacy, the second year running.  Damian Dowling scored 37 points to win the A Division from Neale Mittelheuser on 36, with Dave Robinson winning the best nine holes on 19 points.  Damian also claimed the pinshot on 1 & 10.

In B Division Len Stallard scored 39 points to be one clear of Brett Martell, with Bob Champney winning the best nine holes scoring 72 points.  Roger Draper won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, while Ivan Philpott claimed the pinshot on 4 & 13.

This Saturday is Monthly Medal time again and players are requested to bring a plate for an after game snack.

Vets

A fine autumn afternoon welcomed members to the single stableford competition for Tuesday, with some very competitive scores.

Ray Burrows was the overall winner with 40 points, on a countback from Kev Savage who thus became the A Division winner, with Norm Plath runner up on 38 points.  Kieth Rule won the best nine with a score of 21 points.

Ted Buckland claimed the B Division trophy with 38 points from Roger Draper on 34 points, runner up on a countback. Jack Smith won the best nine holes with 20 points.

Kev Savage won the men's approach with his .11 metres from the hole, while Cynthia Draper (as usual) was even closer with .03 metres to win the women's approach.

Jack easily led the Chook Run winners with 30 nett from Len Stallard on 33, Ted Buckland, Norm Plath, Ray Burrows and Mick Ryan all on 34 and Vicki McAulay on 35.

Next week is a combined challenge.  A fourball versus par event, with a draw for partners.  All the best for the 12 noon hit off.

Juniors

The April Monthly Medal was played last Saturday with Ryan Blinco having a win in the six hole event with a 14 nett!  This will take several shots off his handicap.  Mitchell Tarda was runer up with a nett 17, also a very good score, which will lose him some shots off his handicap as well.

In the nine hole event Amara Burns had a very good win with a nett 38.  Runner up was Katelyn Carige.  Well done to the girl power!

In the 13 hole event Curtis Fredriksen won with a nett 48 from his brother Christian with his nett 51.

On Sunday the Isis Pennant Team played Bundaberg.  The winner of this game would go on to play in the final of this competition against Bargara.  Isis came out with a very good 3 to 2 win.  Players to win their matches were Travis Mittelheuser, Blake Dowling and Will Martell.  This was a great result for the club as this is the first year in a long time that Isis has been able to field a Pennants Team.

Next week there will be a chip and putt competition played with all play starting at 7:30am.  See you there!
