Women

Cecily Fay won the Thursday single stableford competition with 34 points from Margaret Dennett on 32, second on a countback from Vicki McAulay.  Cecily also won the approach.  This Thursday the competition will be a Canadian Foursomes.

On Saturday Joan Wright recorded a 71 nett to win from Helen Ricciardi.  Helen claimed the ladies approach.  Cynthia Draper scored a 2 and 1 win over Fiona Dowling in one of the women's matchplay semi-finals.

This Sunday is Isis Ladies' Carnival and we hope everyone has nominated for this event. Shotgun start at 9:00am.

Men

Grey skies kept the field smaller than usual, but the single stroke competition proved very competitive with a number of below par scores.  Ken Albion broke a long drought with a nett score of 66, just one stroke clear of playing partner Norm Plath. Rundowns went to Damien Dowling and Roger Draper on 68, Clinton Dowling and Bill Kingston both on 69.

Norm also won the Men's A Division pinshot on 1 & 10 and Neal Mittelheuser on 4 & 13.  Bill Kingston won the B Division on 4 & 13 while Travis Mittelheuser was nearest the pin with his approach on 1 & 10.

This week we play the August Monthly Medal.  Time to step up to win one for the year. On August 16, the postponed annual Captain versus President Teams Matchply should be played. Be prepared for that day!

Vets

The stroke competition for July including the 3rd round of play for the Jan Mungomery Salver drew another large contingent of members and visitors.

With an outstanding score of 64 nett, Roger Draper was the overall winner for the day.  A very satisfying one indeed!  In A Division Dave Robinson was only one shot back to win from Nigel Radin on 67, Paul McCarragher and Marg Dennett on 69, with Norm Plath's 69 earning him 4th place.

In B Division Len Stallard recorded 67 nett to win from Ray Burrows on 70, with Joy Cartner winning with 71 nett on countbacks from Frank Rockett and Rusty Usmar.

Cynthia Draper won the ladies' approach (as expected) with Kev Savage putting his second shot in the hole preventing Bob Werne from claiming the approach as his ball was too late in arriving.

Roger Draper led the Chook Run winners on 29 nett, from Nigel Radin on 30, Col Dennett and Dave Robinson on 31, Joy Cartner and Kev Denham both on 33 (on spins).

This coming Tuesday we play a single stableford competition and a number of players will be absent attending the Burrum Carnival.
