Golf Notes 29 September 2015

On Thursday the members journeyed to Burrum with our course closed for greens renovations. Vicki McAulay and Kerry Schnack were the best for Isis, although no scores on hand.

On Thursday the members journeyed to Burrum with our course closed for greens renovations.  Vicki McAulay and Kerry Schnack were the best for Isis, although no scores on hand.

This Thursday is the Monthly Goblet stroke with hit off at 8:30am. As recorded in the men's notes the ladies joined in the men's competition with the results above.

A reminder we play for the October Monthly Goblet on Saturday with 12:30 hit off.  As usual members are requested to bring a plate.  Also a reminder that Monday we play a BBB single stableford as per usual on all public holidays.

Men

Craig Swift sponsored the single stroke competition which was played in pleasant but cool conditions.  Michael Stanton and Peter Hutton enjoyed the setting and both recorded nett 69, with Michael winning on a countback.

Rundowns were given to Blake Dowling on 71, Robyn Robinson with 73, Larry Pershouse, Roger Draper and Ken Albion all with 74 nett.

Bill Herring won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, Blake Dowling the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13 and Michael Stanton the B Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

Although the ladies joined the men's competition, Cynthia won the ladies' trophy with 72 nett and also won the approach on 4 & 13.

Next week we play for the Monthly Medals, the second last for 2015.  Please bring a plate as usual.

A reminder that Monday being a public holiday we will be playing a BBB as usual.

Vets

Col and Marg Dennett were our VIP Sponsors on Tuesday and spared no effort in ensuring a highly successful afternoon on and off the course.  Thank you Col and Marg.

Michael Stanton recorded 66 nett to win A Division from Peter Hrelja on 69 and Bill Herring on 70.  Jack Smith and Paul McCarragher both scored 67 nett in B Division, with Jack winning on a countback.  Gary Gretton came in third with 68 nett.

Joan Wright won the ladies' division scoring 66 nett ahead of Vicki McAulay on 71 and Cynthia Draper third with 73 on a countback.

Bill Herring won the A Division approach on 1 & 10, putting his second shot in the hole.  Bob Cochrane won the B Division approach while Peter Withers took the open approach on 4 & 13, with Cynthia Draper claiming the ladies approach on 6 & 15 putting her 2nd shot in the hole.

Jack Smith led the Chook Run winners with 30 nett, followed by Robyn Robinson and Joan Wright on 31, Peter Hrelja and Michael Stanton on 32 followed by Len Stallard and Paul McCarragher both on 33.
