Golf Notes 30 April 2017

On Thursday Joan Wright won the bisque bogey competition with plus 3 from Coralie Volgyesi and Diane Rowley, who both had plus 2. Joan also won the approach on 6 & 15.

Isis Men's Open Day

Bundaberg claimed the prestigious Isis Cup with their team of T. Hall, M Higham, L Bust, A Portelli and K Hermann, returning the best gross score.

The Isis Team of Larry Pershouse, Peter Hutton, Kev Hackney, Kieth Rule and Kev Denham won the Isis Mill Shield with the best team nett score.

Scorr Warren with four under 66 won the A Grade gros from Mark Higham on 74.  M Shoard with 82 gross picked up the B Grade from Nigel Radin on 84.  Norm Plath with 91 gross claimed the C Grade gross from Larry Pershouse on 93.

Peter Johnson won the A Grade nett with 73 from B Atkinson on 74.  S Sell with 71 won the B Grade nett from J Sules on a countback, while S Kelly with 75 nett won the C Grade from W Bern on 77.

A Grade pinshot was won by Scott Warren on 1 & 10, M Higham on 4 & 13 and Scott Warren on 6 % 15.

B Grade pinshot was won by T Marrinan on 1 & 10, M Shoard on 4 & 13, and G Brandon on 6 &15.

C Grade pinshot was won by C Howells on 1 & 10.

Women

On Thursday Joan Wright won the bisque bogey competition with plus 3 from Coralie Volgyesi and Diane Rowley, who both had plus 2.  Joan also won the approach on 6 & 15.  This Thursday members play for the May Monthly Medal.

On Friday the team representing Isis in pennants performed well to finish even with Hervey Bay, winning 2 matches and squaring 1 to share the honours.  Well done ladies! 

On Saturday playing for the trophies from the Childers Pharmacy sponsored day, Kerry Schnack scored 38 stableford points to win from Fiona Dowling on 34, with rundowns to Rae McCliskie, Joan Wright and Monica Madsen.

Kerry also won the approach on 6 & 15.This Saturday members play for the May Monthly Medal.

ANZAC Day

Helen Ricciardi with 70 nett won the single stroke competition and claimed the trophy from Joan Wright on 74. Rundowns went to Val Plath, Cynthia Draper and Monica Madsen.

Rae McCliskie won the approach on 6 & 15.

Men

ANZAC Day

Kev Hackney recorded 67 nett to win from Nigel Radin on 69, with Ken Backhaus third on 70. Rundowns went to Ted Buckland and Bill Cowan.  Larry Pershouse won the B Division approach on 1 & 10, and Kev Denham the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

On Saturday members played for the trophies from  the Childers Pharmacy sponsored day.  Niel Rieck with 38 points won the A Division on a countback from  Bill Cowan, with rundows to Ray Walker, Kev Savage & Clinton Dowling.

Roger Draper won B Division with 40 points ahead of Ben Van Der Valk on 38, with rundowns to Ivan Philpott, Kieth Rule and Ken Albion.

John Cole won the A Division Pinshot opn 1 & 10, Kev Savage the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

Next week the members play for the May Monthly Medals.  Please bring a plate.

Vets

The ANZAC Day single stroke competition replaced the usual Vets competition but this week Vets will enjoy a Canadian Foursomes sponsored by Phil & Pat Pearce who have special prizes and treats for all to enjoy.  See you there for the 12 noon hit off.
