Rose Cochrane recorded net 70 to win the Ladies' stroke competition on Thursday. Jennifer McKay was runner up with net 74.

Women

Rose Cochrane recorded nett 70 to win the Ladies’ stroke competition on Thursday. Jennifer McKay was runner-up with nett 74. Kerry Schnack with 75 nett won a rundown and also the ladies’ approach, her second shot 0.40m from the hole.

This Thursday members will play for this month’s Monthly Medal.

Merryn Henke won the single stableford competition (her first for a Saturday) with 39 points from Vicki McAulay on 36 points. Rundowns went to Coralie Volgyesi (36) and Joan Wright (35). Joan (1.31m) also won the ladies’ approach on 4 & 13.

This Saturday we play for the Monthly Medal for May – see you there and please bring a plate for an after game snack.

Men

Clinton Dowling recorded a remarkable 44 points, with a round off the stick of 66 gross. This equals the course record currently held by Leigh Cronin, Chris Crouch and Clinton’s son, Blake. Clinton will regret not having one shot less.
Clinton is hitting form at the right time leading into the Championships later this month. 

Other good scores included Peter Hutton’s 40 points to be runner-up followed by Kieth Rule on 39, third on a countback from Mark McAulay. Rundowns went to Terry Smallman (37), Michael Stanton (36) and Roger Draper (34).

Clinton (2.7m) also won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, Roger (0.14m) the B Division approach. Dave Robinson (5.87m) won the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13, no B Division player reaching the green off the tee.

Fiona Dowling won the Labour Day single stableford competition with another good score of 38 points, one more than runner-up, Peter Hrelja. Rundowns went to Kev Denham and visitor Jacob Bee-Gill.

Next Saturday is Monthly Medals stroke competition for May – look forward to a strong field and tasty plates for an after game snack.

Vets

This week the four ball best ball brought out the competitive spirit in some players, no more so than Nigel Radin and Larry Pershouse who recorded 47 points overall to win from Jennifer and Ian McKay on 44 points, with Dave Robinson and Mark McAulay third on 43 points, on a countback from Ed Connell and Paul McCarragher.

Kev Savage (in the hole) won the Men’s approach on 1 & 10; Terry Smallman (0.125m) the Combined approach on 4 & 13; Lisa Cooney (0.38m) the Ladies’ approach on 6 & 15.

Harry Zawacki led the Chook Run winners with 27 nett from Nigel Radin (32), Dave Robinson and Terry Smallman (33).
