Golf Notes 12 March 2017

The ladies welcomed two new players today, with Ilma Kidd and Christine Simpson playing their first game at the Club. Joy Cartner won the stableford competition with 34 points from Joan Wright on a countback. Christine won a rundown on 31.

Women

Kerry Schnack won the approach on 1 & 10.

Next Thursday the members play a Canadian Foursomes, so we hope for even numbers.  See you there for the 8:30am hit off.

On Saturday Val Plath recorded 34 points in the single stableford to win on a countback from Helen Ricciardi. Fiona Dowling won the approach on 6 & 15.

Fiona also won her Match Play against Rae McCliskie 2 & 1.

Next week members play a single stableford sponsored by Foote's Childers Pharmacy.

Men

In a Club sponsored single stableford, three players recorded 37 points, with Dean Page winning on a countback from Harry Zawacki, second on a countback from Craig Reynolds.  Rundowns went to Norm Plath on 36, Michael Hickey on 35 and Ken Albion with 34.

Dean Page won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, Harry Zawacki the B Division approach and Bill Cowan the A Division pinshot on 4 & 13.

Nigel Radin won on the 20th hole against Dean Page
Phil Pearce defeated Larry Pershouse 3 & 2
Harry Zawacki defeated Ken Albion 4 & 3

Pairs Match Play Results:

Nigel Radin and Ben Van Der Valk defeated Roger Draper & Ivan Philpott 4 & 3

Vets

On Tuesday, members played the familiar single stableford.  In A Division Michael Stanton with 36 points won on a countback from Nigel Radin.  Vicki McAulay placed third and Norm Plath fourth, both on 33 points. 

In B Division Harry Zawacki won with 37 points from Coralie Volgyesi on 35, Val Plath on 34 and Ken Albion on 33. \

Dean Page won the the approach on 1 & 10, which was the only one for the day when members forgot to put the markers out on the other holes.
