Women
Val Plath won the Bisque competition on Thursday with a plus 7, from Coralie Volgyesi on plus 3, second on a countback from Lisa Cooney who won a rundown. Helen Ricciardi won the approach putting her second shot in the hole.
This Thursday members will decide the competition before hit-off at 8:30 a.m.
Val also won on Saturday, her minus 1 score enough to win on a countback from Joy Cartner. Joy (1.98m) also won the approach on 4 & 13.
The Club Championship begins this Saturday and all names should be in by this Thursday so a draw can be completed for Saturday. As usual a daily competition will be run in conjunction with the Championship.
Reminder: Helen Ricciardi will be cooking us a “Pizza and Pasta Night” after presentations, together with a Club “Happy Hour”. Names and numbers please by Thursday. Invite a friend.
Men
The Captain surprised some members with the stroke versus par competition the order of the day. Bill Cowan obviously enjoyed the event winning with a score of plus 5 from visitor Mick Martens on plus 3.
Len Stallard claimed third with a square on countback from Phil Luckett and Craig Reynolds who claimed rundowns. Other rundowns went to Bill Herring, Nigel Radin and Larry Pershouse.
Craig (7.8m) also won the A Division pinshot on 1 & 10, with Mick Martens (0.97m) also winning the B Division approach.
The Club Championships begin next week and we hope all members nominate for their relevant grade by Thursday if possible.
As always there will be a daily competition as well on each of the four days.

Vets
Norm Plath led the A Division field with 38 points in the single stableford competition on Tuesday. Kev Denham was second on 36 points, on a countback from Phil Luckett.
Lazlo Volgyesi recorded 41 points to win easily in B Division from Ted Buckland and Harry Zawacki, both on 37 points, with Ted claiming second on a countback.
Dean Page (in the hole) won the Men’s approach on 1 & 10; Val Plath (0.80m) the Ladies’ approach on 6 & 15; and Terry Smallman (0.18m) the Combined approach on 4&13.
Paul McCarragher won led the Chook Run winners with 30 nett from, Harry Zawacki (30), Phil Luckett (31) and Cynthia Draper (32) on a spin.
Next Tuesday, we play VIP single stroke competition for May which forms part of the competition for the Jan Mungomery Salver.
