Women
No competition took place on Thursday with the few who turned up enjoying a single stableford. This Thursday we play for the September Monthly Medal.
On Saturday the women played in the club single stableford competition with Vicki McAulay’s 39 points making her the winner on the day, from Val Plath on 36, on a countback from Merryn Henke who received a rundown.
Vicki (in the hole) also won the approach on 6&15.
Next week we play for the September Monthly Medal. Please bring a plate for after the game.
Men
A brisk breeze seemed to be the only explanation for the fact that only one men’s player bettered par in the club’s single stableford competition.
Harry Zawacki recorded a startling 40 points, with Laurie Dakin runner-up on 36 points, with Kev Savage third on 35 points. Rundowns went to Bill Herring, Garry Willoughby (35 each) and Ray Walker on 32.
Kieth Rule (4.65m) won the A Division pinshot on 1&10, Bill Kingston (0.425m) the B Division approach. Mick Hickey (11.35m) won the A Division pinshot on 4&13, Garry Willoughby (5.86m) the B Division pinshot.
Damien Dowling and Michael Stanton won the pairs’ Matchplay final winning 3 and 2 against Stephen Cole and Clinton Dowling. Phil Luckett is into the final of the Seb and Allan single Matchplay final defeating Ross Nicol. He awaits the winner of the Larry Pershouse and Nigel Radin encounter.
Next week the September Monthly Medals are upon us, with hit-off at 12:30, and time for another plate for after the game, please!
